Teen model with Down syndrome is the true meaning of beautiful
Maddy Stuart is no regular teen — she wants to change the world’s view of people with Down syndrome, one pose at a time.
The 18-year-old Australian aspiring model is using the platform of social media to spread her message. With 322,000 Facebook fans under her belt, Stuart writes on the page: “Modelling will help change societies view of people with Down Syndrome, exposure will help to create acceptance in life.
The red-headed beauty’s mum, Rosanne, is helping Maddy spread the message, while finding her daughter an agent.
“Only when she gets lots of attention through social media will the modelling world look at her, this is unfortunate but true and she really wants to change the way people discriminate against disability,” Rosanne told the Daily Mail Australia.
“People with Down syndrome can do anything, they just do it at their own pace. Give them a chance and you will be rewarded beyond your greatest expectations.”
Despite doctors telling Rosanne that Maddy would never amount to anything, this duo is out there proving that having Down syndrome is a blessing not a disadvantage. If anyone can change people’s views, it is this glorious young lady.
