Missed Connection on New York Subway
“Maria Luisa Portuondo Vila seeks missing lover on New York subway.
In time for Valentine’s Day, a woman has plastered a subway with posters to try to find the man she believes can fulfil her dreams.
Maria Luisa Portuondo Vila’s quest has been aided with a Twitter hashtag #MissingLove created to help track down the man she once “locked eyes with” on the MTA’s New York Subway’s A Line heading towards Brooklyn.
“Pay attention NY! This is about my heart,” the poster reads, with a drawing of the man she wants to meet again.
Maria, a performance artist from Chile who lives in Manhattan, told the New York Daily News that her poster is a sincere attempt to find the man who she wants to be in love with.
“I really saw this man in the subway and I like him,” she said.
She claimed she wanted to give the man her email address and her art web page but lost him when more people got on the subway car.
“I was totally frustrated,” she said. “I was angry with my bad performance and I said, ‘OK, I am going to look for him and I am going to find him!””
