Just because Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are reportedly on their way to divorce, it doesn’t mean they’re not still standing by each other’s careers! The actor thinks his wife is an “icon,” a source close to him told HollywoodLife.com exclusively, and strongly thinks that people need to appreciate and not criticize her!

The reaction was loud and clear on social media after Mariah, 44, took the stage for NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center to perform her Christmas hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” While she was clearly having audio problems, and even ripped the ear piece out at one point, there was no sympathy and she was bashed by haters online!

But Nick is standing up for the mother of his children!

“Nick has seen the footage of Mariah and though the majority of people who have seen it think it was bad, he is a fan and he thinks people should give her a break because she is an icon,” an insider close to the America’s Got Talent host told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Their differences are plenty, but he thought she did great and is proud of her performance.”

That’s so nice to hear. It’s no secret that the couple have had their ups and downs lately, but have been trying to make it work — they event spent Thanksgiving together for their twins, Monroe & Moroccan! We love that he’s still supporting her.
