Judge makes it rain for strippers with $10.8M award in Rick’s Cabaret wage suit
It’s a happy ending for the ladies of the house.
A federal judge on Friday ordered a Midtown jiggle joint to dig deep into its pockets and shell out $10.8 million in damages to dancers for failing to pay them minimum wage and wrongfully retaining their tips.

Manhattan federal Judge Paul Engelmayer in his 51-page ruling also noted that Rick’s Cabaret could be liable to pay the dancers millions of dollars more should the case go to trial.
It was unclear Friday how the dancers will split the award. The 2009 class-action lawsuit was filed on behalf of 50 dancers, but roughly 1,900 others have worked at Rick’s since.
Rick’s Cabaret declined comment.
