How Amal Alamuddin ‘Changed’ for George Clooney
The Independent reports, “Human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin wed actor George Clooney on Saturday after a “fairy tale” romance, and it seems the Hollywood actor has been a good influence on his new wife.
Amal’s “dear friend since law school” Jae Kim gave a heartfelt speech at one the most talked about weddings of the year in Venice on Saturday.

According to People magazine, Kim told wedding guests that Alamuddin has always had incredibly high standards for potential suitors:
“One night we stayed up talking…about relationships and whether she would ever meet her partner in life. She had just been picked the ‘Hottest Barrister in London,’ and I was concerned that this would not work in her favor, as most men found her intimidating already,” Kim recalled.“The list of things she was looking for in this man, she readily admitted, could not realistically be found in one person. She was looking for Mr. Perfect, and he was nowhere to be found.”
Acclaimed lawyer Amal (36) and George (53) met through their work with the United Nations, and the pair began dating soon after. Wary of his reputation as a bachelor, Kim had her reservations that her friend would get hurt as George wasn’t “exactly Mr. Commitment”. But she was soon won over by the Ocean’s Eleven star, and it turns out that Clooney proved to be a good influence:
“You could see in the way he held himself, treated her and others, and enjoyed life that his heart was big and he loved her with all of it,” Kim revealed.“She quit smoking cold turkey when she started dating George, and ever since she met him she has been on time.”
“I had never seen her smile like that. She has had that smile now for almost a year straight… it is nothing short of a fairy tale,” Kim poignantly noted.”
